New: National Journal Power Rankings Identify 14 Republican Seats Most Likely to Flip House Majority to Democrats

McCarthy’s majority in jeopardy as House Republicans go all-in on MAGA agenda
National Journal: “Republicans are firmly on defense as they look to protect their razor-thin majority in the House. Democrats need to net just five seats in order to retake the majority, and the math currently favors them”

Yesterday, the non-partisan National Journal placed 14 Republicans on its list of the most vulnerable House members.

The 14 Republicans most likely to lose their seats by rank are:

#1. Barry Moore (AL-02)

#2. Anthony D’Esposito (NY-04)

#3. John Duarte (CA-13)

#5. Mike Lawler (NY-17)

#6. Brandon Williams (NY-22)

#7. Mike Garcia (CA-27)

#9. Marc Molinaro (NY-19)

#11. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06)

#12. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05)

#13. Ken Calvert (CA-41)

#15. David Schweikert (AZ-01)

#16. Lauren Boebert (CO-03)

#18. David Valadao (CA-22)

#19. Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07)

This analysis highlights the tenuous state Republicans find themselves in ahead of the 2024 election. Each of these vulnerable members have voted for far-right MAGA priorities, demonstrating that they put loyalty to party ahead of working families, and earning them a spot on this list.

DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice:
“After months of dysfunction and chaos, voters have seen how disastrous a Republican majority is – and these rankings reflect that. Despite how wildly unpopular it is in their districts, vulnerable Republicans continue to rubber stamp an extreme MAGA agenda to restrict reproductive freedoms, attack Social Security and Medicare, and defund law enforcement. This obsession with pursuing hyper-partisan policies at the expense of middle-class families will cost them the House majority.”
