Voters in competitive House districts also rank lowering the cost of health insurance premiums as the top health care cost concern, above prescription drugs and deductibles.
If House Republicans fail to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, premiums could soar by more than 75% on average.
Meanwhile, a new report from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office shows permanently expanding ACA tax credits would increase the number of people insured by 3.6 million.
Vulnerable House Republicans refused to advocate for an extension of the tax credits during the budget reconciliation process – consistently swatting down Democratic amendments to make an extension, and in some cases, simply walking away and not voting. The DCCC will make sure the American people know it was Republicans who had the chance to extend ACA tax credits — and chose not to.
