NEW POLL: Mike Lawler Will Be Blamed if ACA Tax Credits Expire

KFF Poll also finds 7 in 10 Republican voters support extending the tax credits

Voters will punish Mike Lawler and House Republicans if they fail to extend the ACA tax credits before they expire at the end of the year, according to a new poll from KFF.

The poll also found 58% of people with health insurance from the Affordable Care Act would not be able to afford a $300 increase in premium. Health care premiums are expected to skyrocket for 450,000 New Yorkers – with some families facing $10,000 annual premium increases.

Lawler recently wrote a phony letter to Mike Johnson saying Congress should act to extend the ACA tax credits and make health care more affordable, but has refused to take any real action.

214 of Lawler’s colleagues have signed onto a discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits for three years and prevent skyrocketing premiums.

Hudson Valley families deserve to know: Why hasn’t Lawler?

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“The clock is ticking for Mike Lawler to take action on fixing the Republican health care crisis, but he is refusing to act. Lawler will be held accountable for his cruelty next year.”
