A new survey from the U.S. Hispanic Business Council shows Texas businesses have been hit by Republicans’ lawless ICE operations and reaffirms that affordability and economic concerns continue to dominate as top issues.
Key findings from the U.S. Hispanic Business Council about Texas’ businesses:
- 20% of Hispanic businesses have lost an employee due to deportation in the past year
- The majority of Republicans view the impact of immigration raids on the workforce as negative: 30% of Republicans rate the impact as “very negative” and 29% rate it as “somewhat negative”
As Texas businesses struggle with losses, hypocritical Republicans like Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) — who voted to keep ICE unaccountable for terrorizing families, gave the agency $75 billion, and have supported every extreme immigration policy — are using immigrant workers for photo ops.
Even in worse news for Republicans, the cost of living remains the top issue that unifies voters across parties — 61% of Republicans, 60% of Democrats, 60% of Independents list it in their top three issues.
DCCC Spokesperson Bridget Gonzalez:
“Republicans are bad for businesses and the American people are having to pay the price. Hardworking families are tired of House Republicans’ hypocrisy and lies when it comes immigration, while their failed economic agenda is making the cost of living worse every single day.”
