| Voters will punish House Republicans if they fail to extend the ACA tax credits before they expire at the end of the year, according to a new poll from KFF.
The poll also found 58% of people with health insurance from the Affordable Care Act would not be able to afford a $300 increase in premium.
Mike Johnson and House Republicans refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. This week, Politico reported Republicans privately fear the threat of a primary if they were to work in a bipartisan manner to ensure hardworking Americans receive affordable health care.
Recent reporting suggests that some so-called moderate House Republicans with long records of deriding the Affordable Care Act are now pretending to support a last-minute band aid by sending off half-hearted letters and giving insincere statements to the press, but they have refused to take action.
Every single House Democrat has signed onto a discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits for three years, but not a single House Republican has joined. Why?
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The clock is ticking for Congress to take action on fixing the Republican health care crisis, but the so-called moderates are refusing to act. These phonies will be held accountable for their cruelty next year.” |
