The poll finds that just 31% of Americans approve of how Trump is handling the economy amid high gas prices, cost-increasing tariffs, and the expiration of the Affordable Care Act tax credits. Even more troubling for House Republicans heading into the midterms, Trump’s approval is eroding, with an 8-point drop on his handling of the economy since January. 65% of voters overall say Trump’s policies have WORSENED economic conditions.
Because of Donald Trump and House Republicans, the national gas average rose to $4 per gallon yesterday, the highest since August of 2022. Overall, 63% of voters said higher costs at the pump have caused some financial hardship, including 15% who said the higher costs are causing severe hardship.
