NEW POLL: Voters Across Parties Concerned About Valadao’s Health Care Crisis, Rising Costs

new poll by Care in Action in battleground districts, including CA-22, shows that the majority of voters across the political spectrum are deeply concerned about rising health care costs and are ready to hold David Valadao and House Republicans accountable for allowing critical Affordable Care Act tax credits to expire.

An overwhelming 74% of voters are concerned about rising health care premiums – including 73% of independents and 63% of Republicans. Voters overwhelmingly blame Trump and House Republicans for rising costs, and support extending the ACA tax credits keeping health care affordable for three years.

This comes as Valadao’s last ditch hail mary to cover his record of gutting health care fell flat, and he instead voted for a GOP sham health care ‘plan’ that even his Republican colleague called “milquetoast garbage.” Now, the pressure is on the House GOP to act – or continue ignoring voters’ clear demands.

REMINDER: Valadao has voted at least 30 times to cripple, defund, or change the Affordable Care Act. In 2018, it cost him his seat. Valadao also cast a deciding vote for the largest cut to Medicaid in American history, impacting over 68,000 people in the Central Valley all to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“The majority of voters agree: David Valadao is responsible for their skyrocketing health care costs. He’s spent years undermining the Affordable Care Act, gutting Medicaid, and standing by as premiums soar for working families. No amount of last-minute posturing can erase that record – and Californians will hold him accountable.”
