New Poll: Voters Overwhelmingly Disapprove of Republican Efforts to Take Away Reproductive Rights

New polling first reported by the New York Times released after the Alabama Supreme Court’s decision that could ban in vitro fertilization paints a damning picture for House Republicans who continue to push a dangerous, anti-freedom agenda in Congress.

When told that House Republicans had voted against the Right to Contraception Act, which would protect Americans’ access to birth control and reproductive care, 64% of respondents said they would be less likely to support Republican candidates for Congress.

Additionally, an overwhelming 80% of voters said protecting access to contraception was “deeply important” to them and 72% of Republicans had a favorable view of birth control.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“No matter how much they will try to change the subject or hide their extreme positions on the campaign trail, House Republicans can’t run away from the years of dangerous, far-right votes they’ve taken at the expense of women and families across the country. Their relentless push to restrict reproductive rights and pass an abortion ban nationwide dooms their out-of-touch MAGA majority.”
