New polling first reported by the New York Times released after the Alabama Supreme Court’s decision that could ban in vitro fertilization paints a damning picture for House Republicans who continue to push a dangerous, anti-freedom agenda in Congress.
When told that House Republicans had voted against the Right to Contraception Act, which would protect Americans’ access to birth control and reproductive care, 64% of respondents said they would be less likely to support Republican candidates for Congress.
Additionally, an overwhelming 80% of voters said protecting access to contraception was “deeply important” to them and 72% of Republicans had a favorable view of birth control.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“No matter how much they will try to change the subject or hide their extreme positions on the campaign trail, House Republicans can’t run away from the years of dangerous, far-right votes they’ve taken at the expense of women and families across the country. Their relentless push to restrict reproductive rights and pass an abortion ban nationwide dooms their out-of-touch MAGA majority.” |
