NEW POLLS: Democrats Widen Midterm Advantage on Key Issues and Generic Ballot

Dems have 8-point lead on generic midterm ballot, including 43-point lead among Hispanic voters

New polls from the New York Times/Sienna and Reuters/Ipsos show a nightmare scenario for House Republicans with less than 50 days until Election Day.

According to the New York Times/Sienna poll, Democrats are winning on the two main issues that Republicans campaigned on in 2024 — the economy and immigration — and have a clear lead on every key issue of the midterm campaign.

  • Health care: D+24
  • Cost of Living: D+8
  • Economy: D+7
  • Immigration: D+7
  • Foreign Wars: D+7

The New York Times/Sienna gives Democrats an 8-point lead on the generic ballot, Reuters/Ipsos gives Dems a 7-point advantage.

DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley:
“The GOP is underwater on every key issue of the midterm campaign, which has become a referendum on their record of rising prices and broken promises. Democrats are running to lower costs for the American people, Republicans are running themselves into the ground.”
