| New rankings from Roll Call confirm what we already know: Congressman Juan Ciscomani is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the country.
Roll Call listed Ciscomani as the fifth most vulnerable Republican in Congress and ninth most vulnerable House member in the country. The ranking echoes earlier analysis by National Journal, which also ranked Ciscomani the fifth most vulnerable Republican.
October polling shows Ciscomani LOSING to a Democratic challenger in a head-to-head match up. Nearly 50% of voters explicitly said they disapprove of his job performance, compared to just 31% who approved. The survey reflects comments from fellow Republican Congressman David Schweikert, who told a reporter that private GOP polling showed “Ciscomani’s seat would be gone” next year. According to Schweikert, Republicans spent “real money” on this “big boy polling.”
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Juan Ciscomani sealed his political fate when he voted to gut Arizonans’ health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. He might as well start packing up his DC office now.” |
