McCarthy Continues to Allow Extremists to Run Wild
This morning, the American Jewish Council released a new report highlighting three GOP members “targeting American Jews” — Paul Gosar, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Scott Perry — that Leader Kevin McCarthy has let go unpunished and unencumbered in his caucus.
The report declares that Greene’s Holocaust comparisons, Gosar’s support of those remarks and announced fundraiser with a Holocaust denier and prominent white nationalist, and Perry’s comparison of political opponents to Nazis and echoing of an anti-semitic replacement theory “amplifies, emboldens, and normalizes antisemitism online and in society.”
The report further highlights QAnon and the Big Lie about the election as “toxic drivers of antisemitic hate,” further underscoring the failure of McCarthy to control his members’ dangerous and extreme rhetoric.
