New Tariffs Are Primed to Hit Iowans — So Will Zach Nunn and David Young Stick By The Administration?

As Iowans struggle to deal with ongoing trade war fallout, the Trump Administration’s new tariffs on Mexican goods would make everyday life more expensive

From groceries to cars to medical equipment, life is about to get a lot more expensive for people across Iowa thanks to the Trump Administration’s new tariffs on Mexican goods.

Following the Administration’s announcement last night, Senator Chuck Grassley immediately slammed the tariffs, calling them “a misuse of presidential tariff authority.” Yet Zach Nunn and David Young have been noticeably silent.

As they race to the right in hopes of winning the GOP nomination, the question now is whether Nunn and Young will stick by Washington Republicans whose support they need — or with hardworking Iowans who have already been devastated by the reckless trade war.

“Zach Nunn and David Young have a tough choice to make — will they find the courage to break with the President as they vie for the Republican nomination, or will they choose to turn their backs on Iowans who have already been hit hard by this reckless trade war?” asked DCCC Spokesperson Brooke Goren.
