New York Times: Bob Good Campaigns on Transphobia, Bigotry, and Hate

“Bob Good, an opponent of same-sex marriage, tries to rally Republicans with attacks on transgender rights”

Today the New York Times released a bombshell new report detailing how Bob Good intends “to leverage anti-L.G.B.T.Q. sentiment in the district to generate enthusiasm,” for his congressional campaign.

Holding a series of events with invitations reading “what happens when a male member of your congregation goes on vacation and returns four weeks later as a female,” Bob Good is peddling transphobic rhetoric and continuing a well-established pattern of bigotry and hate.

Let’s not forget, Bob Good first ran for Congress to oust Denver Riggleman after he officiated a same-sex wedding.

The report further reveals Good’s long-standing record of supporting transgender discrimination, opposing marriage equality, and highlighting on his website that “homosexuality is a very complex subject that medical science has confirmed is psychological more so than genetic.”

“Virginians need a leader who will bring people to get the COVID-19 pandemic under control and safely put people back to work, but instead of bringing that kind of leadership, Bob Good is running an out of touch, divisive campaign that hurts, rather than helps folks in the commonwealth of Virginia,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “With his offensive views and divisive rhetoric, it’s no wonder voters are ready to choose the unifying, steady leadership of Dr. Cameron Webb.”

REMINDER: Newly released internal campaign polling revealed that this district is statistically tied, with Dr. Cameron Webb within the margin of error of Bob Good (42-44).
