NEW YORK TIMES POLL: Democrats Take Commanding Lead in Generic Ballot

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER NEW POLL FINDS DEMOCRATS UP BIG AHEAD OF MIDTERM ELECTIONS

new poll from The New York Times finds Democrats are up FIVE POINTS on the generic ballot.

What’s worse for the future of the Republican majority?

  • Independents would vote for a Democratic Member of Congress over a Republican by a 15% margin – 50% Democratic to 35% Republican.
  • Latino voters prefer a Democratic representative by a 16% margin.

At the same time, Trump is underwater on job approval on nearly every metric, including 18 points underwater on the economy and 29 points underwater on cost of living. 49% of voters say the country is “WORSE OFF” under Donald Trump, including 52% of Independent voters.

This devastating new poll for Donald Trump and House Republicans comes as the New York Post reports Trump plans to take a bigger role in the midterm elections, including campaigning in swing states and districts. Trump’s increased campaign travel schedule will be a reminder to voters across the nation that the Republican trifecta is a failure.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The American people are sick and tired of the broken promises from Republican-controlled Washington. This new poll is just another data point showing Democrats will take back the House in November.”
