New York Times: “Tariffs Raised Consumers’ Prices, but the Refunds Go Only to Businesses”

“American families are certainly the losers”

After Nick Begich, Trump, and House Republicans’ tariffs forced Americans to pay thousands of dollars a year more per family for everyday goods, new reporting from the New York Times finds that little of that money will be returned to consumers, even as the Trump administration is refunding businesses.

It’s no wonder that a whopping 70% of voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy, and that Democrats have surpassed Republicans for the party voters trust more on the economy.

REMINDER: Nick Begich is a rubber stamp for this calamity. He has voted repeatedly to protect price-hiking tariffs that are harming Alaska’s small businessesfishing, miningseafood, and tourism industries.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Nick Begich, Trump, and House Republicans took thousands of dollars out of the pockets of everyday Americans, and rather than giving it back to them, they’re giving it to corporations. This is the agenda Begich supports: the rich get richer, and hardworking families get screwed.”
