NH-01 GOP Field Shares Blame for the Overturning of Roe v. Wade

In the wake of the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, it’s important voters know just how extreme anti-choice GOP candidates Matt Mowers, Karoline Leavitt, Gail Huff Brown, and Tim Baxter are. They have each made their crusade against women’s freedoms clear multiple times in the past year alone.

• In May, Karoline Leavitt said overturning Roe v. Wade would “actually give more rights to us as women.” Today, she is already celebrating the draconian Supreme Court decision.

• In January, Matt Mowers said he supported overturning Roe v. Wade and in his previous run for Congress, he attacked a Republican who supported abortion rights at 8 weeks.

• Gail Huff Brown proudly declared her support for overturning Roe v. Wade and even supported radical abortion bans in states like Texas and Oklahoma.

• Tim Baxter campaigned on his support for a radical, nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother. He is already celebrating the rollback of women’s rights.

Make no mistake: The NH-01 GOP field and the Republican Party are on the wrong side of this issue. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, people oppose Roe being overturned; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

These extreme MAGA GOP candidates will be held accountable for their party’s role in recent decision and their party’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
