Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito Can’t Escape Santos’ Shady Shadow

Last week, New York Playbook exposed vulnerable New York Republicans for being ensnared in the controversy surrounding serial liar George Santos’ shady financial schemes – especially fellow Long Islanders Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito.

These vulnerable New York Republicans both use Santos’ accountant Thomas Datwyler, who allegedly tried to cover up his role handling Santos’ finances, as their own campaign treasurer.

Recently, LaLota and D’Esposito both doubled down on their sketchiness by refusing to answer questions about their connection to Datwyler:

“LaLota, asked by CNN about his ties to Datwyler and Ross’ claims to the FEC, said Datwyler provides campaign services for about ‘100 different’ members of Congress and added: ‘I’m going to hold out on commenting on that until I can confirm the information myself.’

D’Esposito didn’t immediately comment.”
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito are only trying to distance themselves from George Santos to save face from their own financial entanglements with their criminally-indicted colleague’s accountant.”
