Today, increasingly vulnerable New York Republican Nick LaLota elected Rep. Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. After churning through a slew of other candidates, LaLota went all in for Johnson and his extremism:

Johnson pushed for a total abortion ban without exceptions and voted for legislation to punish doctors for providing essential reproductive care.

Johnson led the efforts to slash Social Security and Medicare as the chair of the Republican Study Committee.

Johnson was instrumental in the plan to overturn the 2020 election – the New York Times named him “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections.”
LaLota has completely abandoned working families on Long Island, by siding with election deniers, anti-abortion extremists, and relentless attacks on Social Security and Medicare.
