New Jersey voters are the real losers in this slap fight between an out-of-touch luxury yacht heir and dumbbell radical

Last night, the NJ-03 GOP primary debate between the out-of-touch heir to his family’s luxury yacht fortune Robert Healey and January 6th Stop the Steal rally attendee Ian Smith made clear neither of these Republican candidates are prepared to represent New Jersey in Congress.

Some highlights:

• Both candidates attacked each other’s pasts, with the unforgettable line of the night from Healey: “I may have sung in my past about killing someone; Ian actually did kill someone.”

• Both candidates supported the draft SCOTUS decision to end Roe 

• Both candidates supported Ron DeSantis penalizing private companies who opposed his anti-LGBT, “Don’t Say Gay” bill. 

• Both candidates made clear they believe Trump is the leader of the Republican party

• Neither candidate would commit to supporting the other after the June 7 primary
