Tom Kean Jr., the hand-picked choice of GOP leaders in Washington, continues to struggle in New Jersey.
Weeks after being worryingly forced into a second ballot runoff at the Hunterdon County Republican convention, Kean was thoroughly embarrassed Friday night at the Morris County Republican convention.
In what InsiderNJ headlined as an “Embarrassment for Kean” he is now being forced into another runoff against 28-year-old political novice John Isemann after 62% of Morris County NJ-07 delegates voted to endorse a candidate other than Kean.
For the political scion and hand-selected choice of the GOP establishment, this is not how Tom Kean Jr’s primary anointment was supposed to go.
DCCC spokesperson James Singer:
“It’s panic time for Tom Kean Jr. After decades in Trenton on the inside cutting deals for himself and his donors, the GOP base continues to revolt against this three-time federal loser being forced down their throats by national Republicans.”
