In the wake of the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, it’s important voters know just how extreme NJ-07 GOP candidate Tom Kean is. He has made his crusade against women’s freedoms clear multiple times in the past year alone.

Earlier this year, Kean shamefully voted against a bill to protect New Jersey women’s right to reproductive choice as the Supreme Court prepared to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Kean also voted repeatedly against funding Planned Parenthood, which would have threatened New Jersey women’s access to critical reproductive health care.

Kean, who said he would not use Roe v. Wade as a “litmus test” for supporting Supreme Court nominees, even lobbied for the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, who wrote the draconian opinion overturning Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
Make no mistake: Kean and the Republican Party are on the wrong side of this issue. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, people oppose Roe being overturned; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
Kean will be held accountable for his party’s role in recent decision and his party’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
