NM-02: With Voters Eager to Hold Extremist Yvette Herrell Accountable, Gabe Vasquez Gains Clear Momentum

Week after week, Gabe Vasquez’s campaign to represent New Mexico’s 2nd congressional district continues to put MAGA extremist Yvette Herrell on the defensive. In the last month, Gabe Vasquez earned the endorsement of the Albuquerque Journal and has consistently led in public polling, including last week’s New York Times/Siena poll and today’s polling from the Albuquerque Journal. The Journal highlights overwhelming support for Vasquez among Hispanic voters in the district.

In what has become one of the most competitive races in the country, extreme Republican Yvette Herrell’s re-election campaign is spiraling after her consistent votes against the interest of her constituents. Here’s a reminder of why New Mexico voters are eager to kick Yvette Herrell out of office this November:

• Herrell supports a national abortion ban that makes no exceptions for rape or the life of an individual, and would supercede state protections

• Herrell supports jailing doctors who perform abortions

• Herrell voted against bringing down the price of prescription drugs

• Herrell voted against billions to hold the government accountable and recoup victims of the Calf Canyon/Hermit’s Peak Fire – despite congratulating herself on the historic nature of the funding

• Herrell voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, even though she shamelessly campaigned on investments secured through the legislation

• Herrell pals around with insurrectionists, takes money from fake electors, voted against certifying the 2020 and pushed election fraud conspiracy in her own election 

• Herrell spread COVID conspiracies – encouraging constituents to take Ivermectin as treatment for COVID
