No Momentum for Marc?

Molinaro Reports Incredibly Low Fundraising After Special Election Loss

Since his brutal loss in the NY-19 special election where national Republicans spent nearly $2 million in the final weeks on their losing candidate, Marc Molinaro’s lackluster campaign looks to have stuttered to a near complete stop.

Donors have forked over a measly $25,000 in the three weeks since the special election, proving just how little interest Republicans in NY-19 have in “organizing, donating and volunteering for a guy like Molinaro,” considering “he’s driving around in a $100,000 taxpayer-funded SUV in a slick suit.”

More than ever, it is abundantly clear that Molinaro has no base.

Molinaro’s fundraising is even more embarrassing when you put it in stark contrast to his opponent, Josh Riley. In the first 24 hours after his primary victory, Josh raised over $65,000 from individual donors.

That’s more in one day than Molinaro raised in 3 weeks…

“While Molinaro fails to whip up support from his own party, Josh Riley is showing what real leadership looks like,” said DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre. “Republicans in New York and across the nation clearly aren’t going to let Marc Molinaro forget what a total failure he and his campaign have been.”
