“Not Done Serving My Community”: Derek Tran On His Reelection Campaign

Derek Tran enters the June 2 election with strong momentum for his reelection campaign, while his Republican opponents are mired in a messy primary race with no clear leader.

NBC LA notes that Tran has “a big fundraising advantage – nearly doubling what his [five] opponents have raised, combined.”

Even political analysts agree that Republicans are in disarray, POLITICO reporter Dustin Gardiner adds that “Republicans have not had a more coordinated, organized approach to this race. Why did they not consolidate around… one candidate?”

“I’m not done serving my community. There’s a lot more for me to do for them. And that’s why I’m in this race.” – Rep. Tran
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Derek Tran has built his reputation as a proven leader who will always put the needs of his community first. As a U.S. Army veteran, son of refugees, and the first Vietnamese American to represent Orange County in Congress, Tran has earned the trust of voters, and that’s why Californians will overwhelmingly vote to send him back to Congress this November.”
