315,100 North Carolinians in NC-02 could lose health care coverage if Holding’s lawsuit succeeds
Congressman George Holding has some jokes he’d like to share with you – but for the 315,100 residents of NC-02 with pre-existing conditions who could lose their health care coverage thanks to votes Holding cast, it’s no laughing matter.
This week, Congressman Holding has been goofing around in Washington, submitting “trolling” amendments to rename legislation that would keep legal protections for people with people with pre-existing conditions in place.
In January, Holding voted to back a lawsuit that, if successful, would mean the end of protections for people with pre-existing conditions – including the 315,100 residents of his district with pre-existing conditions.
“As Rep. Holding wastes taxpayer time and money to joke around, health care coverage for the 315,100 people in his district with pre-existing conditions is hanging in the balance,” DCCC Spokesperson Avery Jaffe said. “Rep. Holding’s despicable record of voting to allow insurance companies to jack up health care costs on women, older Americans and people with pre-existing conditions is no laughing matter.”
