After holding the economy hostage in an attempt to force a dangerous job-killing recession, the House Freedom Caucus is once again threatening to shut down the government, calling on Congress to attack federal law enforcement – in addition to demands from some members that Congress defund the law enforcement agencies that keep us safe.
As a reminder, a government shutdown would freeze pay for tens of thousands active-duty troops and law enforcement officers.

“Extreme MAGA Republicans continue to cheer on a government shutdown, no matter how much it hurts everyday families and businesses. They are using law enforcement as a pawn in their extreme power grab – playing politics with public safety – and it will cost vulnerable Republicans in 2024.”
