NRCC Makes Just Downright Bizarre Additions to “On the Radar” List
In a bizarre move, the NRCC added four fringe California candidates to the list of “On the Radar” candidates in their Young Guns program. The addition of these unknown and weak candidates puts the entire program in question.
Among the additions is a candidate in California’s 20th District, where outgoing Congressman Sam Farr won by 75% in 2014, and a candidate in the 27th District who would face Congresswoman Judy Chu for the third time after losing by 20 points in 2014 and 28 points in 2012.
The NRCC also added Paul Chabot, who lost in 2014 and then wrote a book blaming the NRCC. Their last addition is a State Senator best known for flashing an honorary police badge during an apparent road rage incident.
“Republicans must be California dreaming if they think these fringe candidates can win in November,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “The addition of these candidates calls the seriousness of the entire Young Guns program into question.”
