You cannot make this up.
Yesterday the NRCC was caught red handed and then forced to donate the money they had taken from Lev Parnas, a man who was arrested for conspiracy to funnel Russian donors’ cash into U.S. elections.
But it turns out the NRCC also took over $66,000 from Igor Fruman, Lev Parnas’ business associate, except… they ACTUALLY took that money from “Igor Furman,” an alias Igor Fruman used to disguise his political contributions… Like I said, you cannot make this up.
And now that Minority Leader McCarthy has donated the money he took from both Parnas and “Furman,” it’s time the NRCC join him.
DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter released the following statement:
“The President of the United States is abusing the power of his office and Washington Republicans’ failure to stand up for the rule of law is hurting our democracy. The NRCC must donate the tens of thousands of dollars they took from a man using an actual alias to make political donations, who was arrested for conspiracy to funnel Russian donors’ cash into U.S. elections, and they must answer for why they took that money in the first place.”
