NRCC demands congressional candidates resign from their jobs in order to be taken seriously

In a hilariously cynical move, the NRCC issued a press release yesterday claiming that State Senator Morgan Carroll should quit her “day job” to be taken seriously as a candidate. This doesn’t even pass the laugh-test, given that Mike Coffman was Secretary of State when he ran for Congress in this district.

But, focused on this year, we decided to do a rundown of the apparently unserious candidates on the NRCC’s Young Guns list:

Apparently the NRCC also thinks the following candidates should resign, lest they be seen as lacking confidence in their ability to win:

CA-24: Katcho Achadjian – California State Assemblyman

FL-18: Rebecca Negron –Martin County School board

IL-11: Tonia Khouri – County Commissioner

IN-03: Jim Banks – Indiana State Senator

IN-09: Erin Houchin – Indiana State Senator

IN-09: Greg Zoeller – Indiana Attorney General

MI-10: Phil Pavlov – Michigan State Senator

NV-03: Michael Roberson – Nevada State Senate Majority Leader

PA-08: Scott Petri – State Representative

Matt Thornton, Communications Director for the DCCC said, “Seriously?”
