Today, Zach Nunn’s Republican Study Committee held a press conference to introduce its extreme budget that would ban abortion and threaten IVF access, balloon the deficit, and reward the ultra-wealthy while raising costs for working-class Iowans.
Despite his attempts to cover up his support for banning abortion and IVF, Nunn’s budget calls for passing the Life At Conception Act, a total national abortion ban with no exceptions that would essentially ban IVF access. No surprise there – Nunn voted for a bill in the state legislature that would threaten access to abortion, contraception, and IVF.
Additionally, Nunn’s budget would cut Social Security, privatize Medicare, leave thousands of Iowans without quality health care coverage, and give a massive handout to billionaires and big corporations. His budget extends his party’s tax scam that benefits the ultra-rich over small businesses and the middle-class and ballooned the deficit.
