Where Do NY-19 Republican Candidates Stand on Donald Trump?

So far, no word yet from John Faso or Andrew Heaney on whether they would endorse Trump as nominee

As New York’s presidential primary draws nearer next month, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has put New York House Republican incumbents between a rock and hard place.

Meanwhile, New York House Republican challengers have been fairly silent on whether or not they would support their home state frontrunner, Donald Trump.

In New York’s 19th congressional district, Republican challengers John Faso and Andrew Heaney have been mum on whether any of them are fans of Trump, and whether they would even support Trump as the party’s standard bearer.

Last cycle during an interview with WBEN’s Hardline with Hardwick, Faso was asked about rumors that Trump was flirting with a run for governor. Faso responded that Trump was “certainly entitled to go out there,” but quickly moved to shower praise on another potential candidate (who eventually announced a month later), Rob Astorino. (1:40).

“With New York’s presidential primary right around the corner, where do current congressional candidates John Faso and Andrew Heaney stand on Donald Trump?” asked Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “Hudson Valley voters deserve to know whether Faso and Heaney currently support Trump and whether they would support Trump as her party’s standard bearer.”
