We are heading into a third day of speaker uncertainty, courtesy of House Republicans’ commitment to chaos and Kevin McCarthy and his negotiators’ inability to find resolve.
Whether it be the current 20 Republicans objecting or members-elect like Mike Lawler and Don Bacon claiming they would only vote for McCarthy “regardless of how many votes it takes,” – a spineless leader who has routinely caved to demands from extremists as he seeks power – the country and world waits for House Republicans to get their act together so Congress can actually get to work governing.
