Ohio Faces Second-Largest Decline in ACA Enrollment Nationwide, Thanks to Mike Turner

Turner refused to extend ACA tax credits, causing health care costs to skyrocket

Ohio experienced the second-largest percentage decline in Affordable Care Act enrollment in the nation after Mike Turner and House Republicans let critical ACA tax credits expire – ripping affordable coverage away from working families across OH-10.

New federal data shows ACA enrollment in Ohio has dropped by 20 percent, with over 120,000 fewer Ohioans signed up for health insurance compared to last year. Because of Turner’s refusal to act, insurance premiums have skyrocketed for 31,000 residents in OH-10 alone – who will be forced to pay an average of 113% more in premium costs or lose their health care.

REMINDER: After Turner failed to take action before the tax credits expired, he refused to join a bipartisan push to extend the credits and save Ohioans thousands of dollars a year.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Turner is sitting on his hands and refusing to take action while Ohioans are being forced to choose between paying more for their health care coverage or dropping their insurance altogether. That’s not leadership, it’s betrayal, and OH-10 voters will hold him accountable at the ballot box this November.”
