| After a full year of Republican rule in Washington, prices are rising across the board due to the reckless policies backed by Max Miller, Mike Turner, and Mike Carey.
A new study from the Joint Economic Committee released today shows the average family in Ohio is spending on average $1,532 more on everyday expenses, such as housing, transportation, food, clothing, health care and utilities.
Miller, Turner, Carey and their party bosses promised to lower costs for Americans on day one – but have done the exact opposite. As a result of dysfunction and chaos in the halls of Congress, nothing is getting done to lower costs – and things are just getting more expensive.
To make matters worse, Miller, Turner, and Carey voted for the Big, Ugly Law, which is ripping health care and food assistance away from hardworking Ohioans and making health care and groceries more expensive in order to fund massive tax breaks to the wealthy and well-connected. This year, Republicans let ACA tax credits lapse, causing health insurance premiums to skyrocket.
The DCCC will hold Miller, Turner, and Carey accountable for their inaction on making life more affordable.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Max Miller, Mike Turner, and Mike Carey promised to lower the high cost of living, but rising receipts and monthly bills don’t lie: their agenda is epically failing and Ohioans are ready for new leadership.” |
