| Four years after the Supreme Court ripped reproductive rights away from millions of women, Chuong Vo is running in line with the same anti-abortion extremists who made the Dobbs decision possible – a position that is deeply out of step with California voters, who overwhelmingly support reproductive freedom and enshrined abortion rights in the state constitution.
The contrast could not be clearer: Chuong Vo is the handpicked candidate of the California Pro Life Council, an organization that opposes abortion even in the cases of rape and incest or when a women’s life is at risk.
Meanwhile, Congressman Derek Tran has been a steadfast champion of reproductive freedom and is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and Reproductive Freedom for All. When Republicans passed their devastating Big, Ugly Bill, forcing primary care facility closures and threatening access to health care across Southern California, Tran fought back to restore access to critical services and stood with reproductive rights groups.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Chuong Vo has no interest in protecting women’s rights. He was personally chosen by an extremist anti-abortion group that opposes access to reproductive care even in the most extreme cases, and that tells you everything you need to know about where he stands. Derek Tran has always fought to protect women’s health care, reproductive freedom, and the right of families to make their own personal medical positions – and that’s the choice voters will have in this election.” |
