On Roe v. Wade Anniversary, Reminder That Shannon Lundgren and Joe Mitchell Will Stop At Nothing to Rip Away Women’s Health Care

Both Shannon Lundgren and Joe Mitchell played critical roles in Iowa Republicans’ work to ban abortion and prevent women from making their own health care choices. They would both be reliable votes for their D.C. party bosses in passing a national abortion ban. 

Here’s your reminder of Lundgren and Mitchell’s commitment to ripping away health care choices from Iowa women:

• Shannon Lundgren literally shepherded Iowa’s total abortion ban into law as House floor manager for the legislation.
• Lundgren is “one of the more aggressive members of [Iowa’s] legislature when it comes to restricting the reproductive rights of Iowans.”
• Lundgren led the charge as floor manager of a bill that would charge doctors with felonies for distributing mifepristone.
• Joe Mitchell voted for a constitutional amendment that would have paved the way for a total abortion ban and supported a bill that would make abortion care more difficult to access in Iowa.
• Mitchell said “I’m pro-life, always have been, always will be.”
