On the 14th Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, Alison Esposito’s GOP Continues Reckless Crusade To Rip Away Health Care From Millions Of Americans
Fourteen years after the passage of the Affordable Care Act, Alison Esposito’s Republican Party continues to follow Donald Trump’s dangerous calls to “terminate” coverage for 279,879 New Yorkers, including some of the 3.2 million New Yorkers with pre-existing conditions who would likely be charged more or denied coverage without the ACA’s protections.
Recent polling shows that nearly 60% of voters support the ACA. Half of all Americans want Congress to expand the ACA, not repeal or replace it.
The majority of the House Republican Cconference, via their continued support of the Republican Study Committee, support a plan to gut the ACA and privatize Medicare. Repealing the ACA could remove coverage from 40 million people enrolled through the open market and more than 50 million Americans with previously declinable pre-existing conditions.
Alison Esposito cannot be trusted with New Yorkers’ health care.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“For 14 years, millions of Americans have had access to quality health care thanks to the Affordable Care Act. Alison Esposito’s Republican Party is fixated on repealing this law, putting millions of New Yorkers, including those with pre-existing conditions, at risk of being denied coverage on Donald Trump’s orders. Hudson Valley voters won’t be fooled come November.”
