On the 16th Anniversary of the ACA, Andy Ogles Is To Blame For Tennessee Families Facing Rising Health Care Costs

On the sixteenth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, hardworking Tennessee families are reeling from skyrocketing health care costs after Andy Ogles voted against extending ACA tax credits.

Now premiums are higher and affordable options are shrinking, leaving many families in Tennessee paying more each month or forgoing coverage entirely. Families in TN-05 are seeing their health care premium costs more than double with some being forced to pay nearly $4,000 per month for health insurance.

A majority of Americans blame Republicans for rising health care costs, and many families are already feeling the impact in their day to day lives. According to recent reporting, ACA enrollees are cutting back on basics like food and utilities just to keep up with their monthly health care costs.

DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Today’s anniversary is a reminder that Andy Ogles handed a massive health care tax hike to hardworking families across Tennessee. By failing to extend the ACA tax credits, Ogles has effectively forced people to choose between paying for basic needs like rent or groceries or going to see a doctor. Tennesseans are being priced out of being able to get the health care they need; Voters will remember how vulnerable Republican Andy Ogles betrayed and lied to them when they head to the polls this November.”
