On the 16th Anniversary of the ACA, House Republicans Are To Blame For California Families Facing Rising Health Care Costs

On the sixteenth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, hardworking Southern California families are reeling from skyrocketing health care costs after House Republicans voted against extending ACA tax credits.

Now premiums are higher and affordable options are shrinking, leaving many families in California paying more each month or forgoing coverage entirely.

And Jim Desmond, Darrell Issa’s hand-picked successor, has been silent.

A majority of Americans blame Republicans for rising health care costs, and many families are already feeling the impact in their day to day lives. According to recent reporting, ACA enrollees are cutting back on basics like food and utilities just to keep up with their monthly health care costs.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Today’s anniversary is a reminder that House Republicans handed a massive health care tax hike to hardworking families across Southern California. Voters deserve to know where Jim Desmond stands on forcing people to choose between paying for basic needs like rent or groceries or going to see a doctor. Southern Californians are being priced out of their own care, and they can’t afford another MAGA rubberstamp in Congress as they face skyrocketing bills.”
