| On the sixteenth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, hardworking Florida families are reeling from skyrocketing health care costs after María Elvira Salazar failed to extend the ACA tax credits.
Now premiums are higher and affordable options are shrinking, leaving many families in Florida paying more each month or forgoing coverage entirely.
A majority of Americans blame Republicans for rising health care costs, and many families are already feeling the impact in their day to day lives. According to recent reporting, ACA enrollees are cutting back on basics like food and utilities just to keep up with their monthly health care costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Today’s anniversary is a reminder that María Elvira Salazar handed a massive health care tax hike to hardworking families across Florida. By failing to extend the ACA tax credits, Salazar has effectively forced people to choose between paying for basic needs like rent or groceries or going to see a doctor. Floridians are being priced out of being able to get the health care they need; Voters will remember how this vulnerable Republican betrayed and lied to them when they head to the polls this November.” |
