| On the 16th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act becoming law, here is a reminder that Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick failed to stop Pennie premiums from skyrocketing and has a long history of working to undermine access to affordable health care.
The Bucks County Courier Times recently reminded readers that Fitzpatrick voted against creating the ACA enhanced tax credits, writing: “Fitzpatrick had voted against the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, bills that created and extended the enhanced subsidies.” Fitzpatrick also had the chance to vote to extend the ACA tax credits back in May, but he skipped the vote entirely.
Now, because of Fitzpatrick’s failed leadership, premiums are skyrocketing for Pennsylvania families who are paying more or forgoing coverage entirely.
A majority of Americans blame Republicans for rising health care costs, and many families are already feeling the impact in their day to day lives. According to recent reporting, ACA enrollees are cutting back on basics like food and utilities just to keep up with their monthly health care costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Today’s anniversary is a reminder that Brian Fitzpatrick has spent his career undermining access to affordable health care and has repeatedly voted to allow costs to skyrocket. Pennsylvania families are being priced out of their own care, and they’ll remember that Fitzpatrick is responsible for these soaring bills when they head to the polls in November.” |
