On the 16th Anniversary of the ACA, Virginia Republicans Are To Blame For Families Facing Rising Health Care Costs

On the 16th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act becoming law, hardworking Virginia families are reeling from skyrocketing health care costs because of Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, Congressman Rob Wittman, and Congressman John McGuire.

Kiggans, Wittman, and McGuire all voted for the so-called Big Beautiful Bill and failed to extend the ACA tax credits. Now premiums are higher and affordable options are shrinking, leaving many families in Virginia paying more or forgoing coverage entirely. Kiggans even lied about her support for an ACA tax credits extension and said she’d “like to eliminate” the ACA entirely.

A majority of Americans blame Republicans for rising health care costs, and many families are already feeling the impact in their day to day lives. According to recent reporting, ACA enrollees are cutting back on basics like food and utilities just to keep up with their monthly health care costs.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Today’s anniversary is a reminder that Jen Kiggans, Rob Wittman, and John McGuire are responsible for skyrocketing health care costs that are squeezing Virginia families. Virginians are being priced out of their own care, and they’ll remember that Kiggans, Wittman, and McGuire are all responsible for these skyrocketing bills when they head to the polls in November.”
