On the 90th Anniversary of Social Security, Reminder That Kevin Coughlin Has a LONG Record of Support for Cutting Social Security

Kevin Coughlin, however, is a direct threat to Ohioans’ hard-earned benefits.

Reminder of Coughlin’s decades-long obsession with cutting Social Security and slashing other entitlements: 

• For more than a decade, Coughlin has been trying to hack up Social Security, supporting a plan that would make cuts to Social Security likely unavoidable.
  • Ohio Capital Journal: Ohio’s Republican candidates are floating Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid reforms
• Coughlin suggested that “he believes privatizing or cutting Social Security would be the best path forward for the program.”

• Coughlin said “there have to be entitlement reforms” and “benefits that people get are going to be cut” – suggesting that cutting Social Security and Medicare are one of the only ways to fix the national debt.
