On the Second Anniversary of Its Passage, the CHIPS and Science Act Continues to Deliver for Communities of Color

Two years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act was signed into law thanks to President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the leadership of House Democrats.

This legislation has delivered historic investments in American manufacturing, job creation and economic growth, and is part of Democrat’s commitments to delivering for AANHPI, Black, and Latino communities. The CHIPS and Science Act has:

• Brought technology and manufacturing investment to rural areas and communities of color

• Authorized new investments in STEM education and training for people from all backgrounds and all regions and communities around the country, including communities of color and marginalized communities

• Provided new resources to historically Black colleges and universities and other minority-serving institutions to participate equitably in research funding

• Requires recipients of funding to demonstrate significant worker and community investments, including opportunities for small businesses and disadvantaged communities ensuring semiconductor incentives support equitable economic growth and development
