The CHIPS Act has created more than 50,000 good-paying jobs since 2022
Two years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act was signed into law thanks to House Democrats — and no thanks to Ken Calvert.
This legislation has delivered historic investments in American manufacturing, spurring the re-shoring of jobs and strengthening the nation’s domestic supply chain. Specifically, the CHIPS Act has:
-
Spurred the creation or expansion of 83 new semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain facilities across the country.
-
Attracted $447 billion in private investments across 25 states, boosting America’s chip manufacturing capacity while reducing our dependence on importing chips – including over $5.98 billion in California.
-
Created more than 56,000 good-paying jobs.
-
Expanded opportunities at more than 50 community colleges to help workers access these job opportunities.
Ken Calvert voted against these historic investments.
DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“Ken Calvert has consistently wasted Californians’ time in Congress by opposing historic legislation like the CHIPS and Science Act that is creating good-paying jobs, investing in American manufacturing, and growing the middle class. Voters can see that he would rather block these opportunities for Californians, and that’s why they’ll send Calvert packing in November.”
