The CHIPS Act has created more than 50,000 good-paying jobs since 2022
Two years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act was signed into law thanks to President Biden, Vice President Harris, and House Democrats.
This legislation has delivered historic investments in American manufacturing, spurring the re-shoring of jobs and strengthening the nation’s domestic supply chain. Specifically, the CHIPS Act has:
-
Spurred the creation or expansion of 83 new semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain facilities across the country.
-
Attracted $447 billion in private investments across 25 states, boosting America’s chip manufacturing capacity while reducing our dependence on importing chips – including more than $25 million in Florida.
-
Created more than 56,000 good-paying jobs.
-
Expanded opportunities at more than 50 community colleges to help workers access these job opportunities.
Despite repeatedly taking credit for these investments, María Elvira Salazar voted against these historic investments. She even blatantly lied and claimed not to remember her votes when confronted in an interview with Jim DeFede.
As the Miami Herald put it, “after years of lying about her abilities to obtain funds to voters who don’t know better, in minutes of riveting political television on Sunday, Salazar became the national poster-child for misleading Republicans.”
DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“María Elvira Salazar has consistently wasted Floridians’ time in Congress by opposing historic legislation like the CHIPS and Science Act that is creating good-paying jobs, investing in American manufacturing, and growing the middle class. Voters can see that she would rather block these opportunities for Floridians, and that’s why they’ll send Salazar packing in November.”
