The CHIPS Act has created more than 50,000 good-paying jobs since 2022
Two years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act was signed into law thanks to House Democrats — and no thanks to Michelle Steel.
This legislation has delivered historic investments in American manufacturing, spurring the re-shoring of jobs and strengthening the nation’s domestic supply chain. Specifically, the CHIPS Act has:

Spurred the creation or expansion of 83 new semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain facilities across the country.

Attracted $447 billion in private investments across 25 states, boosting America’s chip manufacturing capacity while reducing our dependence on importing chips from China – including over $5.98 billion in California.

Created more than 56,000 good-paying jobs.

Expanded opportunities at more than 50 community colleges to help workers access these job opportunities.
Michelle Steel voted against these historic investments.
