| Three years after Tom Barrett and Bill Huizenga cheered on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and rip reproductive rights away from Michiganders, the two continue to side with anti-abortion extremists over Michigan women.
Barrett and Huizenga worked for years to strip away reproductive health care from Michigan women, and their anti-abortion records are perfectly clear:
- Barrett called himself “100% PRO-LIFE – NO EXCEPTIONS,” and suggested he’d consider a national abortion ban.
- Barrett supported a failed attempt to reinstate Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban, which bans abortion without exceptions.
- Barrett and Huizenga voted for a backdoor effort to pressure states with established legal protections into gradually stripping away abortion rights.
- Huizenga cosponsored the Life At Conception Act: a total nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life.
- Huizenga signed the amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and then applauded the Dobbs decision.
