Vulnerable Congressman Darrell Issa is well known for his political witch hunts targeted at Democrats that cost taxpayers up to $25 million. He made his name turning a legitimate committee into a partisan panel reserved for scandals and conspiracy.
While Issa has been more than willing to investigate Democrats on just about anything, Issa’s silence on today’s call for a federal investigation into Trump University is deafening, but it’s not shocking.
Issa’s unrelenting support for his party and Donald Trump – who he called the “obvious choice” – means he won’t stand up to the bully billionaire now and he never will. This is just another example of Issa putting partisan politics first and everything else, including the people he represents, last.
“Issa’s silence today is proof that his ‘investigations’ have never been more than partisan sideshows,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Issa is what’s wrong with Washington and it’s time for leadership that will put country and service before a political agenda.”
