It’s been one week since the Associated Press revealed OH-09 GOP candidate J.R. Majewski lied to voters about his service record, and he still has yet to produce any verifiable evidence to back up his repeated claims that he deployed to Afghanistan.
Majewski ignored repeated attempts by local press to set the record straight and offer any evidence to support his excuses.
Meanwhile, veterans across Ohio and the country are reacting with disappointment and anger. As one veteran put it, “He just does a disservice to his brothers and sisters…You don’t have to puff out your chest and say, ‘Well, I did this, but it’s a secret.’ No, it was not a secret.”
Without any evidence to back up his insistence that he was deployed to Afghanistan, it’s clear why the national Republicans pulled all their support from Majewski and his toxic campaign.
